This three day course is intended to train responsible armed citizens and select law enforcement to efficiently use carbines and pistols in complete darkness with the aid of night vision.

This course is three days of day into night shooting. You will learn cutting edge pistol and carbine drills during the day and then continue to rep those skills in complete darkness.

Topics covered will include:

  • pistol/ carbine fundamentals
  • setting up your gear for night fighting
  • optics/ laser/ weapon/ ammunition selection
  • shooting and moving
  • shooting from barricades
  • steel jungle lane


 


 

About the Instructor, Bill Rapier

Bill Rapier is the owner and lead instructor of American Tactical Shooting Instruction LLC, also known as Amtac Shooting. He is recently retired after twenty years in the Navy, where his duty assignments included several years at SEAL Team 3 and over 14 years at Naval Special Warfare Development Group. Positions held include assaulter, breacher, sniper, team leader, troop chief and military working dog department senior enlisted adviser. He has always been an avid shooter and is heavily involved in combatives.

1. Helmet-mounted night vision
2. AR-15 style rifle with sling with night vision compatible red dot sight and laser illuminator IR light (if you really want to run something else let me know and we can discuss)
3. 4-5 rifle magazines
4. 1000 rifle rounds
5. Method of carrying rifle mags. Can be a chest rig, plate carrier, battle belt, or back pocket
6. Eye protection/ hearing protection
7. Loose-fitting pants/ shirt/ hat/ gloves/ warmies/ rain gear and knee pads are optional
8. Blow out kit and tourniquet (not required but always recommended when shooting)
9. Water/ snacks/ monsters
10. Spare parts for rifle/ pistol, spare batteries for optics/ flashlight
11. Full-size handgun (I am currently running a Walther full-size PDP, Surefire X300V light with a red dot, aimpoint Acro or Holosun 509T)
12. Holster and mag pouches
13. Three to four pistol mags
14. 1000 rounds pistol ammunition

Location
The new Amtac Training Center, a private facility 1 hour north of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho (directions provided in course confirmation email).
