Fighting at night. The Amtac Shooting Level 2 NVG course is designed to train solid Americans how to maximize the advantage of fighting at night time. What are the best tactics, what is the right gear, what are the best practices to maximize our chances of success? How do we shoot, move and communicate at night? In this course, we will cover:
This is a physically demanding course. You will need a baseline of fitness to participate. For this Level 2 Course, I recommend that you have spent some time on NODs before you come.
About the Instructor, Bill Rapier
Bill Rapier is the owner and lead instructor of American Tactical Shooting Instruction LLC, also known as Amtac Shooting. He is recently retired after twenty years in the Navy, where his duty assignments included several years at SEAL Team 3 and over 14 years at Naval Special Warfare Development Group. Positions held include assaulter, breacher, sniper, team leader, troop chief and military working dog department senior enlisted adviser. He has always been an avid shooter and is heavily involved in combatives.
Student Gear List:
1. AR-15 style rifle with sling (if you really want to run something else let me know and we can discuss)2. Night vision compatible red dot sight and or laser and illuminator3. Helmet-mounted night vision/ batteries4. 4-5 rifle magazines5. 500 rifle rounds6. Method of carrying rifle mags (Can be a chest rig, plate carrier, battle belt or both)7. Eye protection/ hearing protection8. Have the ability to run FRS/ MURS freqs with your comms headset9. Loose-fitting pants/ shirt/ hat/ gloves/ warmies/ rain gear and knee pads are optional10. Blow out kit and tourniquet 11. Water/ snacks/ coffee12. Spare parts for rifle/ pistol and spare batteries for optics/ flashlight13. Handgun (full-size pistol or compact. Run an RDS with your pistol and have the ability to push IR light and preferably white light as well. Surefire X-300v is the best option for both.)14. Holster and mag pouches15. Three to four pistol mags16. 500 rounds pistol ammunition
LocationThe new Amtac Training Center, a private facility 1 hour north of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho (directions provided in course confirmation email).
