About the Instructor, Bill Rapier

Bill Rapier is the owner and lead instructor of American Tactical Shooting Instruction LLC, also known as Amtac Shooting. He is recently retired after twenty years in the Navy, where his duty assignments included several years at SEAL Team 3 and over 14 years at Naval Special Warfare Development Group. Positions held include assaulter, breacher, sniper, team leader, troop chief and military working dog department senior enlisted adviser. He has always been an avid shooter and is heavily involved in combatives.

Student Gear List:

• Compact handgun. I am running a Walther PDP F series. It is optional to also bring a snubnose revolver (not mandatory). Shoot a smaller pistol than you normally carry.
• 3-4 pistol magazines.
• Holster, I recommend an inside the waistband holster all kydex style (Blackpoint Tactical “FO3”). Your pistol should be completely concealed.
• Non firing pistol shape or SIRT pistol.
• Training Blade. We recommend Amtac Blades, Headhunter Blades, Sayoc or Atienza. 
• 12 inch dog leash and lock.
• Hand held flashlight.
• Clothing that are typical of your everyday dress, but ones that you don't mind getting dirty.
• Eye and ear protection.
• Spare parts/ oil for pistol.
• 700 rounds of training ammo. ***Due to the current ammo shortage if you want to shoot a Glock G44 or something similar in .22 for part of the course, that is acceptable. If you do this you must have a holster for the .22 you are shooting.***
• Hat, sunscreen, water, snacks.
• Blow out kit and tourniquet.
