Modern Warrior Conference 2024 "Readiness"

We live in uncertain times. Are you ready? This year's Modern Warrior Conference will focus on different aspects of readiness. Some of the topics that will be covered include: counter edged weapons work, carbine shooting and moving, Tribe centric CQB, pressurizing your weapons transitions, Shoot move and communicate with adhoc teams, fighting to your feet, and most importantly of all the mindset behind our readiness and actions. The Modern Warrior Conference is the premier training event for those who want to "be ready". The instructors for this year are: Tuhon Tom Kier of the Sayoc Kali system, Justin Garcia aka Master Chim, Tuhon Harley Elmore of the Sayoc Kali system, and Bill Rapier from Amtac Shooting. Here are some of the topics that will be covered:

  • Counter edged weapons
  • Carbine shooting and moving
  • Tribe Centric CQB
  • Pressurizing your weapons transitions
  • Shoot, move, and communicate with adhoc teams
  • Fighting to your feet
  • Mindset

This is a physically engaging course that requires you to have a baseline of strength and fitness in order to participate. Lodging is included (this is not the Marriott, private lodging is available upon request for an additional fee). Lunch and dinner are included during the applicable training days. 

MWC 2024 Gear list: 

  • AR15 with RDS or LVPO and sling.
  • 600 rounds carbine ammo.
  • 4-5 Standard capacity magazines.
  • Eye protection and hearing protection (electronic ear protection is highly recommended).
  • Method of carrying AR mags; this can be a plate carrier, chest rig, battle belt or back pocket.
  • Inert pistol shape (blue gun) and or a SIRT pistol, this must either fit in to your normal EDC holster or it needs to have its own IWB holster. 
  • Training blades. Bring the trainer version of your normal EDC blades (Amtac, Sayoc, Atienza, HHB).
  • MMA style striking gloves.
  • Boxing wrist wraps, 2 pairs. 
  • Full face mask protection for simunition work (this is not mandatory as we will have loaner masks).
  • Eye protection and hearing protection (electronic ear pro is highly recommended).
  • Mouthpiece.
  • Lightweight gloves (something like mechanics gloves).
  • Medical blowout kit and tourniquet. 
  • Water, snacks and electrolytes (I use the endurolytes extreme when I am doing arduous training).
  • Weather appropriate clothing that are typical of daily wear, but that you won’t mind getting dirty. 
  • Note-taking material.


MWC 2024 Course Schedule

Friday 

  • 1600 - Start time, intro's and schedule overview.
  • 1630 - TTK lead: Counter Edged Weapons
  • 1915 - Dinner
  • 2030 - Mindset discussion. Topic Readiness. Sub topics. Personal readiness, family readiness, fighting packs, vehicle kits and get home packs. 
  • 2200 - Finish.

Saturday

  • 0830 - Carbine Amtac Lead. cold bore (show up with your rifles zeroed), positional shooting, shooting and moving drills, multiple target drills.
  • 1200 - 1330 lunch
  • 1400 - Tribe centric CQB All.  
  • 1800 - Dinner
  • 1930 - Pressurizing your weapons Transitions - Harley Elmore Lead. 
  • 2200 - Finish. 

Sunday

  • 0830 - Shoot, move and communicate with adhoc teams. Amtac Lead. 
  • 1200 Lunch
  • 1330 Fighting to your feet.
  • 1600 - Final debrief and finish.
